Sailing Refresher Course

Ready to get back on the water and sharpen your sailing skills?

The Sailing Refresher Course is designed for club members who have already completed a basic sailing course or have prior sailing experience and want to rebuild confidence at the start of the season. This hands-on course focuses on practicing core sailing skills so members feel comfortable sailing independently during Open Sail sessions.

Unlike the full Basic Sailing course, this program assumes participants already understand fundamental concepts such as knots, rigging, and points of sail. The emphasis is on practice, repetition, and real-time coaching on the water.

Master Skills

Throughout the course, sailors will rotate through exercises designed to reinforce key sailing skills, including:

  • Rigging and launching

  • Approaching docks and moorings

  • Tacking and jibing

  • Sailing with a jib

  • Reefing

  • Man Overboard recovery

  • Boat handling and sail trim

By the end of the refresher, participants should feel more confident handling a boat, making sailing decisions, and participating in club sailing activities.

Join us for a fun kickoff to the sailing season and help more members feel comfortable getting out on the water.
